The target was matching pre-ban, pre-fire Pernod Fils absinthe, and I'm predisposed to believe Ted Breaux's superlative claims:

I have never tried a pre-ban (can't afford it) but I must say the Jade 1901 is the most beautiful absinhte I have had. Light, airy, sweet (without sugar ans the aroma......... It is a mus try if you have not yet.
